Apple iPhone 16 vs Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Our Verdict: The Apple iPhone 16 came out in 2024, after the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in 2024, so it's the more recent phone. The S24 Ultra leads on camera hardware with a 200MP main sensor to the iPhone 16's 48MP, and the S24 Ultra has the bigger battery of the two, 5000mAh against 3561mAh, but capacity doesn't compare cleanly across iOS and Android, so it isn't a battery-life verdict on its own. The S24 Ultra has the stronger screen, bigger at 6.8" against 6.1" and sharper at 501 PPI, and the S24 Ultra offers up to 1TB of storage versus 512GB on the iPhone 16. Get the S24 Ultra if those extras are worth it to you; otherwise the iPhone 16 covers the basics for less.
The iPhone 16 is the cheaper one to own: around £700 over a typical contract, £185 less than the S24 Ultra.
