Our Verdict: The iPhone 12 Pro Max is essentially last year's iPhone 11 Pro with a few updates. Only the 12 Pro Max is a 5G phone; the 11 Pro maxes out at 4G, and there's more battery in the 12 Pro Max, 3687mAh to 3046mAh, which should mean longer between charges in day-to-day use. The 12 Pro Max has the bigger screen, 6.7" against 5.8", and the 11 Pro is the lighter phone at 188g against 228g. Get the 12 Pro Max if you want the newer hardware; if not, the 11 Pro is usually cheaper and does much the same job.
If you'd rather pay up front, the 11 Pro is the cheaper buy at £140 SIM-free.
