Overview
iPhone 16 Pro is Apple’s compact flagship. It steps up from a 6.1 to a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion 120 Hz and an always-on mode, in a lightweight titanium design with Dynamic Island. The rear cameras are a 48 MP main, a 48 MP ultra-wide and a 12 MP telephoto; the front camera is 12 MP.
New this year, the dedicated Camera Control button arrives for quick access to zoom, exposure, depth and lens switching. The smaller Pro also gains the 5× tetraprism telephoto that was previously limited to the Max, and the ultra-wide moves to 48 MP.
Inside, it moves to the A18 Pro (last year used A17 Pro). Apple says the CPU can run the same workload 15% faster while using 20% less power, the GPU is up to 20% faster with hardware-accelerated ray tracing being up to 2× faster. Battery is rated up to 27 hours of video playback compared to 23 hours in the iPhone 15 Pro. For connectivity you get 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip and Thread, plus USB-C with USB 3 (up to 10 Gb/s) and DisplayPort out.
