Frequently Asked Questions

What contract length should I go for?

SIM-Only plans are usually rolling 30-Day plans, 12-Month or 24-Month contracts.

The 30-Day plans won't require a credit check, but still give you a fixed monthly payment and set of allowances.

The 12/24-Month contracts are usually cheaper per month on average with some even offering cashback bonuses, but require a longer agreement and a credit check.

Some plans may come with Unlimited Data. These are subject to the fair-use policy of the network. Also, they are usually only unlimited in the UK - roaming allowances will vary.

Can I keep my number?

To keep your number when switching to a new contract, text PAC to 65075 from your current SIM to receive a PAC code valid for 30 days. If you enter this code during checkout, your new network will manage the switch. The switch will occur the next working day, automatically ending your old contract.

What networks are available?

There are three main mobile network operators in the UK: EE, VodafoneThree, and O2. They own the physical infrastructure that allows phones to connect to the internet and make calls. In addition, there are a number of smaller mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). MVNOs do not own their own infrastructure, but instead lease space on the networks of the main operators.

The table showing each operator and the corresponding MVNOs can be found below:

EE O2 Vodafone Three
Mozillion Sky Mobile Asda Mobile iD Mobile
1pMobile Giffgaff Lebara Smarty
Spusu Tesco Mobile TalkMobile
Voxi

For example, Sky Mobile uses O2's network to deliver their services. This means a Sky Mobile SIM should have the same signal strength as an O2 SIM in the same area.

While Vodafone and Three merged in 2025, they contintue to operate as seperate brands. They have begun the process of merging their network infrastructure - 500 masts in the UK have been enabled for signal sharing. However, this process is planned to take until 2033 to complete.
